A great idea to use in the classroom is a writeboard where people can "write, share, revise, compare". I can think of many ways this can be used in the classroom. You just need to set up an account for a group to use.
D & W Publications have simple, easy to use tutorials available for teachers and students - Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, PhotoStory3 for Windows, and FrontPage.
